(FFChamps) The San Diego Chargers released veteran wide receiver Chris Chambers today. The 31-year-old Chambers had just nine receptions for 122 yards and one touchdown for the Chargers this season.

Analysis: Chambers simply has not been the same player since spraining his ankle and being carted off the field in Week 5 last season. At that point he had five touchdowns for the season, but in the year-plus since he has just one. He may get some looks from other teams, but don't expect much. His departure opens the door even wider for Malcom Floyd, who had already overtaken him for the starting job.
