| Bay Area Bruins: A fair team over all. I don't like taking a QB, even Brady, that high, but that's just me. Great QB, reasonable RBs, weak WRs, great TE, solid PK and Def equals a bottom half of the pack year. Johnson was good value where he was chosen, but KC has a suspect OL and QB. Best Pick--Bush--a PPR league so Bushy should have gone in R2. Worst Pick--Harrison--R6 is WAY too early to take a Boom/Bust pick. Having Gates, like making lots of 1 putts, can cover a multitude of other mistakes (weak WRs). Record 5/8. JMF Vikings--A pretty good team. Fairly solid at every position. Palmer is a good QB. Like Westy. WRs to die for. Excellent TE, good PK and DEF. A lot depends on whether Jacobs can stay healthy and/or Bradshaw eats into his carries. Best Pick--Gonzalez--even if Tony only plays for a couple of years he should have gone before R6. Record 9/4. Subterranean Rodents--I don't think that this team will do real well. They have, what I would describe, as a lot of #2 starters. Cutler is a #2 QB. His WRs are mostly #2 and #3 WRs. As is his TE and DEF. For the Rodents to stand a chance, BOTH Cutler and Grant will need to step-up and I don't think that they will. BP--Bradshaw--if Jacobs falters, even a little bit, I think AB will get a chance and he will run with it. Record 3/10. Purple Hurricanes--Sorry, Lisa, but I consider this to be 1 of the weaker teams. I see 1 solid QB (Romo), RB (Gore), and WR (CJ). Most every other position is mediocre. You even have the same BYE week for your 2 TEs. BP--Slaton--he could be the starter before the year is over. WP--Parker--with Moore and Mendenhall, it looks like no more 3rd downs or goal line carries for FWP. Record 5/8. Fight! Fight! Fight!--another team that I like a lot. Good QB. Can always send out 2 solid RBs every game. WRs to die for. 2 very good DEFs. If any RB, not named Barber, can step up, then this team could go for the Championship. Don't like the fact that BOTH his TE and PK have the same BYE week. BP--Benson--supposedly lost some weight and has a different attitude and, if so, he covers Forte's a$$. Record 10/3. Stud Farm--Over the years I've seen a number of strategies, but I've never seen 1 like this. Just on the surface of his current roster, I do not see: a Starting QB; more than 1 starting RB (who is coming off a VERY bad injury); more than a #2 TE. I do see 3 reasonable WRs, but 2 of them are with Detroit and Martz is no longer there. There is certainly potential for down the road, but not much for this year. Record 1/12. Reservoir Dogs--Another VERY good team. QB is Manning, nuff said. 2 very good RBs in Portis/Lewis. A TOP 5 TE and a solid PK and DEF. Downfall could be his WRs, where his 2 best (Berrian/Jennings) have very questionable QBs. BP--Watson, a GREAT handcuff to Rudi, in the 17th Round. Could make the POs if the WRs step up, but I don't think that he can win it all. Record 8/5. Ontario Packerfan (I play with Shawn in another league)--Probably a middle of the pack team. QBs--a weak #1 (Eli) and 2, #2s. RBs--LT is LT, 1 of the 2 best in the league. The rest are questionable or mediocre. JJ will be RBBC in Seattle. Smith will probably share carries with Bell, at least for a while. WRs--there are 3 really good ones in Holt, Smith, and Cotchery. This bunch, plus LT, will supply most of his points. TE--Heap is very good when he is healthy. I just don't remember a season when Heap was always healthy. OK at PK and DEF. BP--Crumpler. Young has never played with a better TE than Algae and Crumpler could quick become Young's check off. Record 6/7. Mighty, Mighty Meatheads--a mid to lower level team. QB--McNabb is about it and his best days are behind him. He never was a GREAT passer and now he's getting too old to run much. RBs--Jackson is Great and a TOP 4. I don't see FJ getting more than 10 to 12 touches/game. And, if Barber goes down, don't be surprised to see Choice step in as the #1. McFadden will share carries with Fargas and Bush, if he's healthy and I think that he is, will get all of the GL touches. Taylor is past his prime. WR is a weak spot. Wayne is a TOP 5 and 2 others, Galloway and Burress are #2s. TE, PK, DEF. OK, OK, OK. BP--Trent Edwards, could easily become Meathead's starter beginning with McNabb's Week 7 BYE. Record 5/8. Water Mashies (name of an old tyme golf club)--probably a mid to lower level team. QB--strong. Brees is a TOP 5. Bulger, just the year before last was considered a TOP 5. If the Ram OL, with Pace, can keep Marc on his feet, then I got a steal. RBs--strong. I'll match my starting RBs against anyone. WRs--REALLY weak. Engram/Moss will be my best, but they are only medium to weak #2s. I need Bennett/Avery to step up by mid season and I think that they might. Cooley is a Top 5 TE and the Viking DEF (especially in their weak division) are a Top 5. PK is a Top 8. BP--Turner is R4. "The Burner" is a solid #2 RB and should have gone in the 2nd. Record 6/7. Demonic Dung Beetles--a middle of the pack team. QB--Anderson/Rodgers are strong. I Martz can't get something out of Alex Smith, then write him off as a BUST. RB--very weak. If Graham doesn't start, then the best is nothing more than a #3 (Thomas Jones). WRs--the absolute BEST in the league. Owens, Moss, and Johnson, with a solid #4 WR in Mason (that's pretty good when Mason is your #4). Witten/TE is a Top 4. PK and DEF are both decent. BP--Booker/RB/Philly in R14. If Westbrook was to go down, I think Lorenzo steps in and you won't see hardly any difference at all. Record 8/5. NOTE: if Graham steps up and plays well ALL YEAR, then this could be the Champion. Ontario Navigators--probably 1 of the weaker teams. QB--good, but not very good. Big Ben is probably in the 7-10 category and Garrard is a high #2. RB--Addai is just fine, but I think that he will lose some carries this year. McGahee has NEVER (to the best of my knowledge) averaged 4+ yards/carry. Ray Rice wasn't drafted to ride the pines. "Edge" is getting old and has lost, at least, 1 step, PLUS, Hightower will get GL carries. WR--Welker is OK. Evans is dependent upon Edwards and I'm not sure Trent is there quite yet. Word is Robinson is starting in ATL, opposite Roddy, which should cut into White's value, and their QB is questionable. Porter couldn't do it before and I don't think that he can do it now. TEs--pretty weak. PK and DEF--both OK. BP--Robinson/WR/ATL, R14. Could be the #1 down the road. Record 6/7. Just doesn't have the over-all strength to be a very good team. Going to play some golf. Back later. |

| I may have 2 tight ends on the same bye week. However at that point in the draft I went for value. I run the bye weeks I don't let them run me. So If I don't have a tight end for the bye week I don't pannick. I'll just play without one that week. If I don't think a bye week is worth picking up a kicker I won't pick one up that week. I've done it before and won plenty of times gone with out a kicker or a TE or a wr. I'm not gonna pannick I've won most of the games i've played one guy short. |
