Guys, this is not a neighborhood league where everyone sits around a table and changes the rules whenever they feel like it.  The commish has already clarified what the rules here are - A full line-up by the end of 17 rds and subsequent 3 single round drafts later in the summer.  That's they way it is.  Let's stop complaining and get with the program.  I'm sure he's willing to work with you, but strongly doubt there will be any changes because a few league members didn't understand what they needed to do. He spelled out what everyone has to do to be in compliance so let's get moving and get this thing over with.

Ontario - do not insult me or my intelligence by saying "I did not know what to do".  My ealier picks, like the excellent recent Sub Rat picks have to be reversed out because the rules were as clear as mud.  The earliest comment about 17 rounds was made on a message post this morning - far too late given my draft strategy.  You may enjoy an arbitrary world - but don't tell me when it is time to move on when I am willing to play by any rules as long as they are known in advance.

We think it is far from us not knowing what we " needed to do." We are believers in this site and Kirk's product. We enjoy playing here and will continue to do so. However, you most def. can not say that we didn't know what to do. We drafted according to what the rules read. It did not say anywhere that the initial draft was 17 rounds. I think the majority of the people in this draft weren't for sure the initial draft just consisted of 17 rds.

Saying that, we will go with whatever Kirk feels is right. Just know that it wasn't, "just a few league members" not understanding. From the looks of it, it was the majority because it wasn't written properly.

We're still stopping at the end of Round 17. We'll pick back up with Round 18 on June 15th, Round 19 on July 15th and Round 20 on September 1st. My apologies again for the confusion. I can definitely see it both ways due to the wording. Check this out...

5. All teams must come out of the initial draft with the necessary components to field a starting lineup (i.e. a Quarterback, 1-2 Running Backs, 3-4 Wide Receivers, a Tight End, a Place Kicker and a Team Defense). Then, you must always maintain these minimum requirements throughout the regular and off-season (i.e. teams can't elect to go without a kicker, tight end, defense during the regular or off-season).

6. Off-Season Rookie and Remaining Free Agent drafting periods begin each year on May 15th and continue three more times before the start of the regular season (June 15, July 15 and September 1). The team with the lowest winning percentage at the end of the regular season drafts first. The rest of the teams are placed in order from lowest winning percentage to the highest. In the event of a tie, the team with fewer total points scored selects first. The Fantasy Bowl winner drafts last, even if they do not have the highest winning percentage. The Fantasy Bowl loser drafts next to last. If a playoff and non-playoff team end the season with the same winning percentage, the non-playoff team selects before the playoff team. All off-season draft rounds will be the same order (not serpentine).

While I knew all along we were going for 17 rounds because we had additional rounds in the summer, I didn't convey it clearly enough which threw some guys off. Then at the same time, other owners can point to that last sentence in item #5 where it says you have to have the necessary components to field a starting lineup both during the regular and off-season and then goes on in item #6 talking about additional draft rounds.

Again, my apologies for the confusion. I'll definitely get this cleared up in all rule pages for the future.

Thanks,
Kirk
