| Can't find a rules description and the "playoff brackets" link is blank. How do playoff's work..is it Top 2 from each division...or two winners and next two best teams? I'm assuming it's 4 in playoffs and not 6...or is it 6 with division winners getting bye weeks? Thanks! |

| Yo FinFan, here you go my man !!!!! Hope this helps bud !!!! Section IV - Playoffs and Payouts 1. In order to determine division championships and playoff seedings, the following tiebreaker system will be used: 1.) Best W/L Record, 2.) Head to Head Competition, 2a.) Best Division Record, 3.) Most Points Scored All Games, 4.) Best Net Points Head to Head, 4a.) Best Net Points Division Games, 5.) Least Points Allowed All Games, 6.) Coin Flip. 2. Division statistics (2a,4a) are used to resolve division ties only. Playoff seedings WILL NOT consider these values. With playoff seedings, once the division winners have been seeded, all other teams will be seeded based on overall record, head-to-head and then total points scored. In the event of a tie involving three or more teams, head-to-head can only be used as the tiebreaker if one team has a definitive advantage over the others (i.e. Team A defeated both Team B and Team C, therefore they earn the higher seed based on head-to-head.) If no definitive advantage can be derived for any one team (teams split season series, some teams involved in the tie did not play), the tiebreaker will automatically be decided using total points scored. 3. Two (2) division champions and four (4) wild-card teams will qualify for the playoffs. The two division winners with the best records will receive a first round bye and the first and second seeds. The wild card teams will be seeded third, fourth, fifth and sixth using the tiebreaking formula above. Wild card seed #1 plays #4 and the #2 seed plays #3. Wild-card weekend will be held during week #14 of the NFL season. 4. The winners advance to the conference semi-finals. The lowest seed to advance plays the highest seeded division winner, with each successive seed taking on the lowest advancing seed. This action will take place on week #15 of the NFL season. 5. The winners will square off for the Ontario League Championship. This action will take place on week #16 of the NFL season. The champion will receive a check for $400 while the runner-up receives $200. GLFFL is not responsible for the taxes on the prizes of the winner. 6. The six (6) non-playoff teams are entered in a single-elimination consolation tournament that will run through NFL weeks 14, 15 and 16. The seeding will be determined using the formula listed above. The top two seeds will receive a bye during NFL week 14. Seed #3 will play #6 and #4 will play #5 during that week. The winners advance to play the two teams receiving byes during NFL week 15. The winner of the consolation tournament earns a compensatory draft pick in next May's Rookie and Free Agent Draft (the pick will be an extra pick at the end of the first round). |

| Thanks buddy! I couldn't get bylaws or rules page to open! Well..it looks like my recovery and possible playoff birth just took a hit with my failure to start Cassel. Man..i agonized over whether to start him, Big Ben, or the newcomer Thigpen.... oh well... my team does not deserve a playoff spot!!! |

| LOL... Never giving up!! Just have to laugh at how few points I've gotten and the breaks I've caught to make it this far. There's no way I'm gonna win any tie-breakers with my low point total..and I firmly expect last playoff spots to come down to tiebreakers...so just guessing my chances are slim..oh..and fact I have no real good players..hell, I barely have any good players. Not counting Cassel who erupted ahead now..i don't have a SINGLE PLAYER IN THE TOP 43 in the league and only 2 of the top 50! Thansk for the encouragement though!!! I'll keep fighting my hardest! |

| Saddest thing is that I wouldn't even be in contention if all 12 owners were staying active every single week! I won a game a couple weeks ago when my opponent started Matt Leinart against me. He had like 2 weeks to get himself a starting QB from the waiver wire...but was nowhere to be found. I'd say my odds of making the playoffs are at least 20:1 at the very best... i'm not betting on me!! Most weeks I can't even come up with 100 points!!! My shot at a top 2-3 draft pick has also dissappeared! I'd say I made two big blunders...blunder #1..i really wanted to take Kurt Warner in the initial draft, but thought too much about "the future". #2-- I went with the sudden hype and took Chris Perry in round #20, hoping he'd be the next Rudi Johnson or be great trade bait...thus I passed on rookie WR DeShaun Jackson who was the more logical pick. Oh well...been a fun year. Sure hope we can all stick around and continue to have 12 owners active, every week!! |
