| While trying to work out the particulars of the Baltimore/Houston waiver addition solution we came up with yesterday, we've been trying to reach Vincero to see how he wants to handle his requested add. I'm posting it here so you know the time of his email and the players he had requested at the time. At the time of the email exchange last night, Vincero was under the impression he was just getting a replacement player without any drop. ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard E Smith To: Pavelich, Kirk Sent: Sunday, September 14, 2008 1:50 AM Subject: Michigan 3 replacement player Kirk, My Michigan 3 WR corps is Donald Driver, Eddie Royal, Derrick Mason, and Kevin Walter. This leaves my team with only two WR's eligible to play. I would have played Walter. I would select as Hank Basket WR Phi as my week two replacement players. Options would be in this order Ike Hilliard WR T B, Steve Breaston WR Arz and Devard Darling WR K C. "Are you having fun yet?" Richard ************ Since it was such a unique situation, we didn't have a real clear rule on how to handle it. As we've worked through the issues, we're trying to be fair to all constituents the best we can. We did not expand the roster as part of this so a player needs to be dropped in order to make a move. That player is not going to automatically going to be returned to your roster because we are also not going to reverse out all 500 moves we've made in the last 12 hours. At the same time, we are NOT going to require that any player added right now be dropped back into the free agent pool as we had initially stated. By doing so, we'd be requiring an owner to drop a player permanently for a one game rental, an obvious unfair situation for an owner impacted by an uncontrollable weather situation. At the same time, allowing these owners an extra roster spot of flexibility, without one for the other owners-- even if for one week-- will be questioned as well from the other side. The hope is that most owners realize the complexity of the entire situation and keep it in perspective-- it is just a game and the reason we're dealing with it is because others in the real world lost their lives, their properties, etc. due to the hurricane.
