Black Knights were led to their 4.16 point victory by a 21.00 point effort from Le'Ron McClain, who beat the Dallas Cowboys defense for 139 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 4 receiving yards. With this performance, McClain was the number 6 ranked running back for week 16. They also got help from a 19.00 point effort from the Tennessee Titans Defensive Team.
"This team shows a lot of character," Black Knights coach Martin Guillen said.
Belmont Hoodsters were helped out in a losing cause by a 33.70 point effort from Matt Cassel, who beat the Arizona Cardinals defense for 345 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 19 rushing yards. With this performance, Cassel was the number 4 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 12.30 point effort from Donald Driver, who snuck past the Chicago Bears defense for 63 receiving yards.
"There were too many defensive lapses," Belmont Hoodsters coach Andy McManus said.
Causing further embarrassment, Belmont Hoodsters could have scored 110.50 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Andy McManus left key players like Heath Miller and his corresponding 17.30 points on the bench.
Black Knights took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 8 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 16. This brings the record for Black Knights to 3-10, and drops Belmont Hoodsters to a record of 1-12.
